My upgraded design in rear wheel tie downs. This model is certainly more robust and has the advantage that it folds flat. It will take up far less space in your storage box especially if you have 2 or 3 sets.
This model now uses a 750 kg rated ratchet with a 750 kg rated strap and of course it meets Australian Compliance. It will keep your bike secure on your trailer, ute or rear bike carrier without pulling down on the suspension or causing any rubbing or damage that other options can cause.
They can be used on front or rear wheel ( Unless you have a low guard on the front) and a lot of riders use this method on rear bike carriers as tie down points are so close to the bike.
I still use standard front tie downs on my trailer however there is very little pressure placed on them. All the work is done at the rear. I also use the small triple clamp fork tie downs rings also available at $10.00 a set to stop any damage occurring putting straps around your bars and cables etc.
